Celebrating Growth and Who They’re Becoming

This month is a special one in our family—both of my sons are celebrating their birthdays. Looking back at their baby photos, I’m reminded of just how quickly time moves. The days may feel long at times, but the years truly are short.

What once felt like small, everyday moments—first words, first steps, quiet routines—have become some of the most meaningful memories. Taking time to reflect isn’t just about looking back; it’s about appreciating the journey and everything that has come with it.

The Perspective That Comes With Time

As children grow, so does our understanding of what really matters. The focus shifts from milestones to meaning, from managing the day-to-day to appreciating who they are becoming.

•	Growth isn’t just physical—it’s emotional, personal, and constant  
•	Each stage brings its own challenges and its own kind of joy  
•	Letting go and holding on somehow happen at the same time  

Parenting doesn’t slow down, but it does deepen. And with time, so does the gratitude.

Birthdays create space to pause—to celebrate not just another year, but the people our children are becoming. While every child’s path is different, the pride, hope, and love behind it feel universal.

To My Sons:

To my oldest—

You’re stepping into a new chapter, one that reflects years of hard work, growth, and determination. It’s been incredible to watch you find your direction and move toward it with purpose. There’s something powerful about seeing you stand on the edge of what’s next, ready to take it on in your own way.

To my youngest—

You bring a kind of light that’s hard to put into words. Your heart, your kindness, and the way you move through the world remind me daily of what really matters. There’s a strength in that softness, and it’s something truly special.

The Ongoing Journey:

No matter their age, part of me will always see those baby photos, the beginning of everything. But the most meaningful part has been everything that’s come after.

This month, I’m celebrating both of my sons .. not just for their birthdays, but for the individuals they are and the paths they’re creating. And taking a moment to appreciate just how meaningful this journey continues to be. 🎂💛
